I’m sorry but you won’t love every photo I take of you. That’s just the honest truth. But that shouldn’t stop you from booking a shoot. Here’s why…
I may not always get your “good side.” I may not always get the most flattering angle, your hair just right, the best light or make your skin look absolutely flawless. Although I absolutely do my best!
Because it’s so much more important to me to capture how you feel and I don’t think you’ll regret that.
I don’t think you’ll regret your hair being out of place as you dance in a waterfall.
I don’t think you’ll regret the crinkle around your eyes as they shine with love for your partner.
I don’t think you’ll regret the double chin when you’re laughing so hard while your children tickle you.
Moments are not always perfect but they can be very powerful. And it’s that power that I always strive to capture. So if every photo being perfect is holding you back, remember there is never going to be the “ideal time” to capture this point in your life.
If you’re still feeling unsure, here’s a few tips to help you feel more confident in your shoots.
Wear Something that Lights You Up—Pick an outfit that just makes you feel yourself first. Then you can add on accessories or coordinate others outfits around yours.
Be Prepared to Move—Movement helps photos look more natural and we do A LOT of movement in my shoots no matter what type of shoot it is. It’s best to just go with it! If it’s a family or couple portrait it can also be helpful to do an “activity” based shoot like getting icecream, going through the sprinkler, etc.
You Don’t Have to Have it All Figured Out—That’s what I’m for! You don’t know how to “pose” ahead of time or how to move, trust me for that. Focus on how it feels to laugh, twirl, be with your family or loved ones, feel powerful etc.
