Hi Guys! I'm Beth! It's been a little while since I've introduced myself on the blog. If you've been a reader for awhile there may be a few things I can share that you might not know. So here's a little bit about me and what this whole Runaway Alice Photography gig is about!
A couple of years ago, my husband, our (at the time) one-year-old daughter, and I sold our house and all our belongings to travel around the United States in a camper. It was seriously life changing. It planted in me a deep love of our national parks and wild places--a love of travel and the need to tell our story. To create an intentional life.
For now, we’ve settled down in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Lexington, Virginia. I love riding motorcycles through the national forests, exploring the local creeks and rivers with my daughter, and sitting on our porch with my handsome redhead in the evenings with a good dark beer. I always start my mornings with coffee, hopefully some yoga, and gratitude. And I LOVE food. All food. Especially guacamole, tacos, pizza, sushi, umm, yeah, all of it.
My Method
I specialize in intimate weddings, elopements, and destination weddings. My clients share my heart for adventure and travel. I thrive on authentic moments. Worried about your awkward head back laugh? Pull up a chair, my friend, because you’ve found your people. My style is romantic, creative, and genuine. I believe in getting out in the rain, taking risks, sleeping with the windows open, and brave love stories. I would LOVE to tell yours, but first let’s see if we are a good fit.
I’m not about stiff poses and flashes. I’m about interaction, emotion, and giving you the best experience. I want to capture your best laughs and true love in natural light, just the way you are. I want you to come nervous and leave pumped—and maybe with us being best friends. I want you to know that I value your experience and your story above anything else. If you are looking for any photographer with a camera to take your photos, I’m not your lady. No worries! I’m passionate about my clients, and I pour myself into our work together. I want us to connect, jive, laugh, and get to know each other. I want you to trust me and have a blast doing it.
I’m a photographer for the explorers, the wild, the deeply passionate, the awkward, the couples who don’t mind getting out in the rain, sharing a hilarious “bad word” or two, who are ready to get up at sunrise or sneak out for a slow dance under the stars. Who don’t mind getting wet or dirty and know that their wedding day is the start of the next part of their story and their adventure. I believe by sharing our stories we are connected. I believe that we can draw strength from our love stories years down the road when shit gets hard. I believe that love is the only true adventure.
