I’m back! And its 2019! Sometimes the new year feels like some sort of time travel. I always want to yell, “I’m back! From the future!” But sadly that’s never the case. Mainly just back from the past. And speaking of the past, I’d like to take a little time to reflect on the past year and all its awesomeness for Runaway Alice Photography and me personally.

I was talking to a friend about this post and saying that I really didn’t think much happened last year. She stared at me blankly like I might have just lost my mind. So here it goes—hold on to your butts.

This year I focused a lot on weddings and loved every minute of it. It was a year of firsts! Which is funny to think about when you’ve been in business for a long time. Some years are just like that.

It was the first time I traveled internationally to photograph a wedding (yay!)

It was the first time I had a major accident at a wedding (more on that in another post).

It was the first time I photographed a themed wedding (which was amazing!)

It was also the first time I did school photos which was hilarious because my kid was the only one crying.

It was the first time since before Lucy June was born that I suffered a severe round of cluster headaches. Thank you so much to all my clients at that time who supported me and were so incredibly understanding.

It was the first time I had left my daughter for a month.

I took my first full time job since Lucy June was born.

And we moved back to Tennessee.

There were lots of motorcycle rides, yoga sessions, small adventures, beers, rivers, and everything else in between. 2018 still had its hardships, even all that good stuff put together is a lot. But it was a year of growth, a lot of adventures, and a hell of a lot of joy. I think this year will be even better.

Cheers!
